You'll notice that each sign is given an element. Each of the 4 elements will relate to three different signs. The basic gist of the elemental associations is:

  1. Fire signs are passionate, dynamic, and spontaneous.
  2. Earth signs are grounded, loyal, and determined.
  3. Air signs are often intelligent, curious, and talkative.
  4. Water signs are emotional, compassionate, and very sensitive.

Another aspect that may be new to some is the concept of Fixed, Mutable, and Cardinal signs. This is because the Zodiac mirrors the yearly change in seasons! Each of these aspects will relate to four signs. While this is another complex Astrology concept, the basic gist is:

  1. Cardinal zodiac signs start a season. These signs are often leaders.
  2. Fixed zodiac signs fully embody each season. These signs often have high endurance.
  3. Mutable zodiac signs end a season and transition into the next. These signs are often highly adaptable.
