Polychrome Jasper, AKA Desert Jasper, is truly unique with it's intrinsic patterns and bold colors. This lovely stone enchants us with it's grounding yet playful energy, and mesmerizes us with it's natural beauty.
Polychrome Jasper, also known as Desert Jasper, is only found on the island of Madagascar. This relatively new variety was first discovered in 2008, when gemologists were searching for untouched deposits of Ocean Jasper. Two additional deposits have since been found on the island. Due to the terrain and conditions, this variety of Jasper must be dug by hand. The original name, Desert Jasper, comes from this stone’s beautiful earth tones, which are caused by Iron inclusions. Polychrome Jasper in it's raw form is widely desired by sculptors, jewelry makers, and all sorts of craftsmen, due to it’s beautiful waves and rings of color.
Metaphysically, Polychrome Jasper has a strong connection to the gentle energy of the Earth and this makes it a wonderful stone for grounding, stabilizing, and balancing. This stone is also thought to revitalize and energize through it’s equally strong connection to the element of Fire, leading to enhanced creativity, passion, motivation, vitality, and stamina. The playful, yet innocent, energy of this stone is said to be unique because it seems to focus on possibilities of tomorrow, making it a powerful stone for positive manifestation. It is also said Polychrome Jasper can both revive a fading romantic relationship and attract new romantic love. This versatile stone resonates strongly with the Root, Heart, and Sacral chakras, and is thought to be especially helpful for those with Aries, Cancer, and Virgo in their astrological chart.
