Shiva Lingam is a member of the Quartz family. This stone is found only in the sacred Narmada River in India. Villagers visit the river in Onkar Mandhata and polish these river rocks to better define their famed lingam shape. Shiva Lingam is a stone with an inherent connection to the Hindu Culture, and is thought to be a representation of the Lord Shiva in Shaivism. The shape of the stone is thought to be phallic in nature, and is often displayed within something resembling a ‘yoni. The Lingam also represents the Brahmanda, which means “cosmic egg”, symbolizing the creation of both the divine male and female energies. It offers Divine Masculine Energy, reinvigorating our sense of vitality and purpose. It’s believed to be extremely supportive to fertility, sexuality, confidence, virility, and balance, especially for those on the masculine end of the spectrum. The rounded polar ends of the Shiva Lingam are thought to bring our physical and emotional bodies into balance. This stone is thought to offer support to all chakras, but is especially helpful for opening the Third Eye and activating the Sacral Chakra.
